About Wanderlight

Hiya, there!

I’m Shay. :D

I’m a licensed master-level psychologist offering affirming telehealth therapy for clients across Kansas, from Manhattan to Wichita and beyond, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your own space.

You might be in the right place if…

  • You have OCD, ADHD, autism, or identify as neurodivergent

  • You’re a teen or young adult trying to figure out life

  • You’re tired of masking, overthinking, or feeling like your brain works “wrong”

  • You’ve always felt like the black sheep, the outcast, or the weird one

  • You’re part of the LGBTQIA+ community, into kink/BDSM, polyamory/ENM, or just want a therapist who won’t blink at taboos

  • You’re a geek, gamer, bookworm, or proudly weird

  • You’ve always felt a little “too much” or “not enough”

Therapy doesn’t have to be intimidating. It’s about finding what works and who gets you. :)

    Geeks & Nerds

If video games, fandoms, cosplay, tabletop games, or LARPing are part of your world, you’re in good company. I’m a therapist who gets geek and nerd culture, and your interests are welcome to be discussed and incorporated in our sessions.

    Alternative Lifestyle Informed

I offer therapy for clients in non-traditional relationships, including polyamory, ENM, kink, and D/s dynamics. You deserve a therapist who understands the nuance of these lifestyles without judgment or assumptions.

Additional Conditions I Have Training & Experience In

  • Anxiety can leave you feeling stuck in cycles of worry, fear, and overthinking. In therapy, we’ll work on calming anxious thoughts, managing physical symptoms, and building practical coping skills. We'll also explore mindfulness techniques and help you feel more grounded and in control of your daily life.

  • Depression can drain your energy, motivation, and hope, making everyday life feel heavy. In therapy, we’ll focus on rebuilding emotional strength, challenging negative thought patterns, and reconnecting you with values, meaning, and routines that support a sense of purpose and well-being.

  • Trauma can leave lasting emotional wounds, affecting your body, relationships, and sense of safety. Therapy can help you process traumatic memories at your pace, reduce emotional overwhelm and flashbacks, and rebuild trust, safety, and empowerment so you can move from surviving to thriving.

  • Struggling with self-doubt or feeling like you're never "good enough" can impact every part of your life. Therapy provides a space to challenge critical self-talk, build self-compassion, set healthy boundaries, and recognize your strengths so you can move forward with greater confidence and trust in yourself.

  • A difficult relationship with food and body image can often mask deeper emotional struggles. Therapy can help you reduce obsessive thoughts around food, heal emotional triggers, and build a more flexible, compassionate relationship with your body, while practicing self-acceptance and emotional resilience.

  • If you’re struggling with self-harm urges or dark thoughts, you don’t have to face them alone. Therapy offers a safe, judgment-free space to understand the pain underneath, build healthier coping strategies, create safety plans, and find hope even during the toughest moments.
